How Quintessential Brands created ‘one team’ by transforming its employee communication with The QuBe

Starting with a brand new intranet and rewards portal, Quintessential Brands partnered with Reward Gateway | Edenred to transform how it communicates across the organisation. The next step was to add recognition to the platform, helping to build a culture of appreciation and providing a channel through which to recognise the efforts of its employees.

What they needed

Quintessential Brands is a collection of multiple distillers producing and distributing some of the world’s most-loved spirits brands, with a heritage dating back as far as 1761. Headquartered in London, Quintessential Brands employs a diverse team of around 380 colleagues across five European locations.

The HR team had identified the need for an employee intranet that would unite its dispersed workforce and create a greater sense of unity, in line with the organisation’s mission to be ‘one team of pioneers’. They needed to find a flexible solution that would provide a centralised employee experience hub, allowing QB colleagues across its different European locations to access company news, benefits, updates and other important content.

2025_Quintessential Brands imagery eCards2_UKAs a result, Quintessential Brands partnered with Reward Gateway | Edenred to introduce The QuBe – a state of the art employee intranet and reward platform. Fully branded and accessible to all of QB’s people, the platform immediately became a central workspace that reflected its team spirit.

Once The QuBe had been adopted as the main method of communicating with the QB workforce, the HR team saw an opportunity to continue developing the platform to support employee appreciation across the business. One of QB’s factories had been under a huge amount of pressure to deliver high volumes and install a new facility in record time, so the organisation was looking for a way to reward and thank manufacturing team members for their hard work.

Working closely with Reward Gateway, they also added two recognition features to The QuBe – eCards and instant awards. In line with the launch, all factory team members were awarded a £100 instant award to show appreciation for the work they had done, while encouraging proactive use of the platform.

 

What they achieved

88% of QB’s people are now active users of The QuBe, which has transformed the way that the organisation communicates. Colleagues across the UK, Ireland and France are now better connected and able to work together as one team.

Employees have viewed the Wellbeing Centre more than 550 times, and saved over £3,600 through Discounts. Most importantly, Quintessential Brands now has a channel through which to recognise employees and demonstrate how appreciated they truly are.
